Are you up for crafting solutions and solving tomorrow’s problems today Then we have the opportunity for you! We’re seeking an experienced, Operations Manager to join our Customer Fulfillment team. You’ll operate out of one of our dynamic Fulfillment Centers: these sit at the heart of Amazon’s premier and rapidly growing business.

As an Operations Manager, you’ll deliver inspiring, supportive leadership for the teams you lead. But at the same time, you don’t shy away from rolling up your sleeves and getting involved whenever necessary.
You’ll be directly responsible for developing a team of Area Managers and their direct reports: meanwhile, you will report to the Senior Operations Manager of your Fulfillment Center. The quality of your leadership is key to success in this role: you’ll tactfully motivate and inspire your teams to do their best work, while planning schedules and activities that balance their needs with that of the business. Another key aspect of the role is to lead on numerous process improvement projects, with the aim of streamlining all activities, both for yourself and the team members you lead. The ideas, innovation and leaps out of the status quo that you come up with could very well be rolled out across the Amazon network: this immense opportunity is yours for the taking.
Key job responsibilities Drives creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable their Functional Area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed Business Plan. Sets / clarifies requirements and expectations for Area Managers. . Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Area Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments. . Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area. . Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network. . Works closely with support staff (HR Manager, Financial Manager, Facilities Manager, S&LP Manager, and Other Sr. Ops. Managers, IT Manager) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in his/her area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives. . Able to address operational and personnel issues affecting functional area. . Surface issues with potential to affect multiple functional areas, along with ideas for solutions, to Sr. Ops, General Manager and / or HR. A day in the life .Lead and supervise a team of Area Managers and associates in outbound or inbound operations within the Fulfillment Center. . Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of the shift. . Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals. . Strategic planning and forecasting appraise performance resolve problems and address staffing needs. .
Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning . Ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts and network. This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS . Possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution . 8+ years management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment . Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs . Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, and problem solving skills. . Good communication skills with diverse audiences with confidence, clarity, and right focus . Good teamwork mentality to build trustworthy and supportive working relationships. .Ability to learn quickly and work under high pressure in a fast-paced dynamic environment .You’re competent in two or more production or supply chain areas, with an impressive track record in a similar, dynamic logistics, distribution or manufacturing environment, .Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays .Excel skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Master’s degree, 2. Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through: Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma. 3. Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 100+ indirect employees
